Partschain Limited (“Partschain”, “we”, “us”, “our”) operates the Partschain.co.nz platform, a marketplace connecting buyers and sellers of auto parts across New Zealand. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to being transparent about how we handle personal information.

By using our platform you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

We collect personal information in the following ways:

Information you provide directly

• Account registration: name, email address, password, phone number, region.
• Seller registration: business name, NZBN, business type, website, vehicle makes/models handled.
• Part requests: vehicle make/model/year, part description, contact preferences.
• Enquiries: messages sent to sellers through our platform.
• Profile settings: preferences and notification settings you configure.

Information collected automatically

• IP address, browser type, device type, and operating system.
• Pages viewed, time on site, referring URLs, and search queries.
• Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Cookies section below).

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account and verify your identity.
• Route part requests to matching suppliers based on their listed specialisations.
• Send transactional emails (account confirmation, request matches, enquiry notifications).
• Operate, maintain and improve the Partschain platform.
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and other harmful activities.
• Comply with legal obligations under New Zealand law.
• Analyse platform usage to improve features and user experience.
• Send marketing communications where you have opted in (you can opt out at any time).

We will not use your personal information for purposes incompatible with the purpose for which it was originally collected without your consent.

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it in these circumstances:

• Between buyers and sellers: When you post a part request, your request details (but not your contact information) are shared with matched suppliers on the platform. Sellers can then contact you through the Partschain messaging system.
• Service providers: We use trusted third-party services to host our platform, send emails, and analyse usage. These providers are contractually bound to protect your data.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government authority, or to protect the rights and safety of Partschain and its users.
• Business transfers: If Partschain is acquired or merges with another entity, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how our platform is used. These include:

• Essential cookies: Required for the platform to function (e.g. authentication sessions).
• Analytics cookies: Help us understand traffic patterns and improve the platform.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or by displaying a notice on the platform. Your continued use of Partschain after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
